Lucy ... The dog lived like a baby for her 12 years and 5 months of whole life, appreared to Nala and my life so unexpectedly.
Yes, I was thinking of having another Labrador to have a friend of Nala to company when I am not home. No one I told about this idea was against it. Even the owner of Nala's mother when I consulted about it. However the chance came around..the same person who had Nala's mother called me, there was a labrador who went to one family was brought back in one day ( or few days ) for whatever the reason is now available. I knew he wanted to make the sale asap...but I could not say no...so I decided to take a look to see how I feel...and Nala and I went to see her on November 30 1997, to 50 km away from Narita airport...which is like a galaxy away from where I used to live.
She was running everywhere...she was energetic and so cute, how can you resist a puppy if you are thinking of having one anyways? So I decided to bring her home with us. This happened so unexpectedly so she didnt have a name for a few days...I had to think about it looking at her, the name came to me was Lucy,
I named the other dog, Nala, a girl lion from the Lion King...I like the name very much but I had to explain where its from or it was not Nara like Nara ken. So what I wanted for the little one's name was the name no one would ask where its from, and it worked.
I did not have much to do other than regular walk routine from the very beginning with Nala only 5 months older than Lucy, so I thought...Umm...I could do twice of much of this. That was a mistake...BIG mistake of mine...Lucy was nothing like Nala in any ways...She was like a storm...she did everything I could not even think of a dog would / could do...But she brought our lives a very bright light and huge fun and love.
Lucy made me dead worried for millions of times, yet didnt give me a chance to worry about her last moment when she was going...I knew she was tired and getting old, and it was the first time I had to wake her up but she went for a walk and finished her breakfast and even finished the gum I handed to her as I walked out the door, and I assume, she fell into a sleep forever just before noon..
Lucy, born in October 17 1997 and fell into a forever sleep in March 25 2010, now she is and will be with us always...
We love you Lucy...xoxo
